Louise Edlen, 93, waved to the children on the school bus every day but one day she wasn’t there. She had suffered a stroke and the kids noticed right away that something was missing.
“It was kind of heartbreaking because she was always there,” said one of the students from the bus.
The bus driver tracked down the woman’s home and sent a bouquet of flowers. The next day on the woman’s window was a sign. It said “Thank You.”
To show their own respect, the students made a sign of all of them smiling and waving. The driver delivered the picture to Edlen and told her, “This is from the kids. They miss you and want you to get better.”
“I miss them too,” she responded.
She’s working on her recovery every day hoping to be at her window waving as they pass.
