A mother is speaking out after making a disturbing discovery in a bag of frozen fish.
The woman asked to not be identified. She heard her daughter going through the freezer. The daughter had pulled out a frozen bag of tilapia her mother had bought at a local Walmart.
The woman said, “My daughter ran into my room and said ‘mom, did you see the snake?”
Her daughter had found something inside the individual, vacuum-sealed frozen bag of tilapia. But, what her daughter found wasn’t a snake.
A reporter sent pictures of the tainted tilapia to an aquaponics university professor. He confirmed what’s on the fish isn’t a snake, but it looks similar to nematodes or a tapeworm.
After her daughter’s shocking discovery, the mother contacted the store, and then contacted a local news station.
The mother didn’t just want her money back, but she wanted the frozen bags of fish removed from the store and their online store.
After contacting the local news station, the frozen bags of fish have been removed from Walmart’s website.
A Walmart representative released the following statement:
We are committed to providing our customers with safe, quality foods. We encourage customers with questions about our products to return to the store and speak with a member of management.
