Tiny homes are all the rage these days, but a 4-foot wide home built in the 1920’s was ahead of its time for one simple reason, spite. The 840 sq. foot two story home known as the ‘spite house’ is described as a wedge of cheese narrowing from 16 feet wide at one end down to barely 4.5 feet. According to local legend, a greedy husband kept his divorcee’s house but left her a tiny sliver of property as a cruel joke. Refusing to let him get the better of her, the scorned woman built a remarkably unique home outside her ex-husband’s back door. Unbelievably, the little house is actually pretty cozy.
