Evelyn Moore was only four months old when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. She’s had to undergo chemotherapy eight times already in her very short life. Fortunately, she’s been in remission for the past three months. Unfortunately, she’s paralyzed below the arms due to a spinal tumor.
Her father worried about how much a custom-made wheelchair would cost, but also wanted to give his daughter the best. His solution? He decided to make his own. And it turned out to only cost about $100.
The wheelchair has given Evelyn the mobility that she was looking for, and she seems to love it. “She gets to explore what she’d want to explore. She’s like any other child, but she’s actually faster,” said her Pediatrician.
