A 31-year-old and 89-year-old neighbors have taken the internet by storm.
Chris Salvatore is a 31-year-old actor and Norma Cook was his 89-year-old neighbor. That is, until she moved in and the two became roommates.
Norma and Chris had lived across from each other for four years, and became friends very quickly. When Norma turned 89 her health started to decline very fast. She was in and out of the hospital, and battling leukemia. She ran out of money very quick.
Norma’s Social Security check barely covered her rent and she needed 24-hour healthcare. When Chris found this out, he started a GoFundMe page.
It took only seven hours to raise $25,000, and now 2 months later, it’s surpassed $60,000. The money was enough to get Norma through the holidays. Nurses told Chris they didn’t expect her to make it through the holiday but she proved them wrong. But the money ran out and Norma was about to lose her home. Her last wish was to be at home with her cat, Hermes, as she transitions into the next life.
So what did Chris do? He asked Norma to move in with him. Chris refers to Norma as his grandmother, and Norma calls Chris the grandson she never had.
