This clever woman wanted a set of plates for every occasion and she came up with a brilliant solution to get her way. It seems a bit excessive to go out and buy special ones and sort them that way. She’s got a great idea. Check it out.
Lois, from PineRidge Hills’ blog, shared her cute little do it yourself project that only takes a few cheap and simple supplies.
She wrote in her blog, “I decided to try my hand at making designer plates out of a set of glass salad plates I purchased at the dollar store.”

She began with simple square napkins that featured a pattern that she liked. She spread a thick coat of glue onto the plate and once it was completely covered, she laid the napkin across and spread it evenly across the glue. The glue she used was Mod Podge. That might be important.

Lois gives a bit of advice at this step, “It dries fast, so have the fabric ready.” It’s also important to make sure the “top” of the napkin faces the glass. You can use a small spatula to help get rid of any bubbles. Then she let them dry overnight.

A spray clear sealer helped to protect the napkin. If used properly, the seal will make them washable and even dishwasher safe!
Lois concludes with, “The next time I find a designer remnant of fabric at the store, or a set of napkins, I can make my dishes to match. The ideas are endless!”
