An elementary school kid made headlines for what he had done one morning at school.
Royce Thompson is a shy kindergartner, and was running late to school. After his mother dropped him off, she saw he froze right before entering the school.
Royce’s mom, Heather, saw him stop and urged him to go inside. There were kids rushing passed him to get inside.
Royce’s mother didn’t know what was going on, but the school police officer did.
Officer Cibby Moore explained to Heather that her son had stopped for the Pledge of Allegiance. Moore told a local news station, “I couldn’t believe that he acknowledged that that was a moment of, you know, you need to stop do the pledge and he just did. He just ignored all the kids around him and kept doing it. And it was awesome.”
But that wasn’t the only thing Royce stopped for, he also stopped to pray. Officer Moore said she heard Royce say, “Thank you God. Thank you for giving me a wonderful day.”
Of course, Heather posted about it on Facebook saying she was very proud of her son.
