A young boy’s hope to prank his teacher inspired a nation this week after his story went viral on Facebook.
Jax’s hair was getting a little wild, and his mother said it was time for a haircut. The little boy decided this would be the perfect opportunity to play an innocent prank on his elementary school teacher. With a twinkle in his eye he asked his mother if he could have a shaved head just like his best friend Reddy. When she asked why, Jax told her the plan.
He said he couldn’t wait to go to school on Monday with his hair like Reddy’s so that his teacher wouldn’t be able to tell them apart,” Lydia Stith Rosebush wrote on Facebook. “He thought it would be so hilarious to confuse his teacher with the same haircut.”
She posted a picture of Jax and Reddy on Facebook with the following message,
This morning Jax and I were discussing his wild hair. I told him that he needed a haircut this weekend. He said that he wanted his head shaved really short so he could look like his friend Reddy. He said he couldn’t wait to go to school on Monday with his hair like Reddy’s so that his teacher wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. He thought it would be so hilarious to confuse his teacher with the same haircut.
Here’s a picture of Jax and Reddy from their Christmas program. I’m sure you all see the resemblance.
If this isn’t proof that hate and prejudice is something that is taught I don’t know what is. The only difference Jax sees in the two of them is their hair.
Lydia’s post was shared more than 50,000 times in just a few days. It has been met with tremendous support from all who view it.
This wonderful little boy just proved that no one is born with prejudice in their heart. It’s a disease that spreads over time, but the cure is compassion and friendship. From little Jax’s point of view he and Reddy are exactly the same in every way except for a couple inches of blond hair.
