Matt decided to sell some stuff on eBay to make ends meet because he had a lot of spare time (and was trapped on the sofa recovering).
It was a low-stress approach to make money that didn’t need much physical exertion.
Matt’s old VCR was one of the items he placed up for sale. He reasoned that it was an out-of-date piece of technology that he no longer needed.
Matt sold the VCR to an 86-year-old Phoenix man for $40. This particular buyer has never made an eBay purchase before.
After sending the VCR, Matt expected a “plain” review from the customer on eBay.
However, he found an unusual letter in his stack of mail a few days after the deal was completed. He called for his fiancée to join him after taking one look at the typed message; he knew she had to see it.
Matt and his girlfriend were both crying just a few moments later.
