Anne Glancey is a retired school teacher and lives in the house she grew up in. However, Anne had many code violations and if she didn’t make the necessary repairs she would face fines amounting in $3,000 per day.
Anne had isolated herself and didn’t have any friends or family to ask for help. But she walked out of her house one day to find her neighbors of five years, Kristin and Adam Polhemus making repairs to her house.

The couple found out about Anne’s situation and knew they had to help. They even called in friends and neighbors as reinforcement to help.

Adam and Kristin Polhemus had offered their assistance several times but Anne would always change the subject.

With the help of friends, neighbors and volunteers, it took every weekend during the summer to fix all the repairs Anne needed.

After a while, Anne was no longer isolating herself and making new friends.

According to a New Jersey state trooper, he estimates the work would have cost Anne $10,000 to $15,000 in professional services.
