Two young children are safe today thanks to an observant bus driver.
MCTS driver Jeannie Mitchell was enjoying what seemed like a normal day behind the wheel when she saw something that made her pull over.
Two small children were walking alone on a deserted street. Jeannie took one look at them and knew something wasn’t right. “Where’re these babies going?” she asked the other people on the bus.
After pulling over she asked the children where they were going. The 5-year-old and 1-year-old were lost and couldn’t find their way home.
Jeannie asked the children to sit on the bus while she and MCTS dispatchers contacted the police.
A few minutes later an officer arrived and took the children back home safe and sound.
No matter how bad the world may seem, never forget that there are still good people out there making our world a better place.
