Good people are out there, they just don’t make headlines like the bad.
In 2013, a teenager’s actions made headlines, and all for the right reasons.
Joey Prusak is a 19-year-old from Minnesota and works as a manager at a local Dairy Queen. One day a customer came in for ice cream. Witnesses say the customer was blind. When Prusak took the customers order, he noticed a $20 bill fall to the ground.
Moments later, the customer behind the blind customer picked the $20 up. Prusak thought she was going to give it to the man. Instead, she put it in her purse.
The blind man had walked away and Prusak asked the lady to return the money or leave the store. The woman claimed the $20 was hers.
A witness said once Prusak realized the money wouldn’t be returned, he walked over the man, pulled a $20 bill from his pocket and handed it to the man on behalf of Dairy Queen.
Prusak has been praised for his actions.
