Winter’s coming in quick, and it’s best to be prepared. You might make sure you’re kid is warm in a big puffy jacket, but did you know that a coat so big could come with dangers when it comes to riding in the car?
When a kid is in a car seat, he’s probably not properly secured because of the space created by the coat. The straps aren’t tight around their body because of all the extra room to accommodate the coat.
This news clip highlights the problems that might come with the cold weather and you might have never known before.
Child seat safety expert Daniella Silver says, “It seems like it would make sense that as long as you get it tight, that should be good enough, but unfortunately, [from] the research with the crash test dummies we’ve seen, that’s not the case.”
