Man rushes to rescue blind dog covered in porcupine quills

Brady Oliviera plays for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers football club in Canada, but when he’s not training or playing, he spends his time rescuing dogs with K9 Advocates Manitoba. Brady uses his platform to raise money and collect donations to help these voiceless animals. He even travels to other countries to help with rescues.

One day, K9 Advocates received a call about a blind dog that was living under a deck with porcupine quills stuck in its mouth. When the rescuers found the dog, it was bleeding, frightened, and didn’t trust anyone.

Brady crawled under the deck and spoke in a soft, soothing voice so the dog wouldn’t be scared. Despite the dog’s fear and reluctance to trust humans, Brady kept reassuring it and caressing it until the dog finally allowed him to pet its cheek.

Brady knew then that the dog was starting to trust him. He gently picked up the dog and took it to a safe place, and then they drove to the vet where the dog required three surgeries to treat its wounds.

The poor dog was transferred to the Winnipeg Humane Society for Animals and given a name, Buddy. It wasn’t long before he was adopted! Brady visited Buddy six months later and was happy to see that he was doing well in his new home.

Watch the heartwarming video below and see how Brady gained Buddy’s trust.
