Sometimes you just need to take a break...

Former UFC champ rescues injured little girl, carries her down a mountain

Such a crazy labor day weekend for our family but ended in such an amazing and beautiful way. My poor Kai broke her arm at the top of the Mary Jane Falls hike at Mt Charleston. So @mommapook and I basically had to carry her down miles ahead. To our rescue and assistance came the amazing @mieshatate the UFC fighter. She offered to help us carry her down the mountain. Such an amazing and humble person to have met. Our family cant thank you enough for all the help. You saved us easily hours of hiking and helped us get her to the hospital sooner. Thank you again ???????????? #mieshatate

While Miesha Tate may no longer carry the UFC Bantamweight championship belt, that didn’t stop her from carrying an injured 6-year-old girl down a mountain. While hiking with friends, Tate stumbled upon a little girl and her mother in distress. The girl had fallen, broken her arm, and was struggling to walk. The mother wasn’t strong enough to carry her daughter down the mountain, and they were still more than 2 miles from the bottom. Tate offered to help and the exhausted little girl gladly climbed into her arms. Tate did all she could to keep the injured child’s spirits up and even posed for a few pictures while they waited for a ride to the hospital.

Tate wrote about the rescue on her Facebook page,

Today a little girl broke her arm up at the top of Mary Jane falls (Mt Charleston) and I saw her meekly built mother struggling to carry her daughter down the mountain so I offered to carry the little girl to the bottom. The mother asked her 6 year old daughter “would you rather have me or her carry you down” without hesitation (to my surprise) she quickly replied “I want HER to carry me” we had to laugh. I preceded to carry the sweet little thing all the way to the bottom. Kai and I learned a lot about each other on the roughly 2 mile descent and It’s fair to say she inspired me. We made it all the way down without slipping or falling! We agreed we would both be strong for each other! Team work at it’s best!”
