People have described animals as angels but one mom didn’t understand what that meant until her daughter met a kitten named Liza.
Robin Myers is the mother to a free-spirited little girl named Kylie.
Kylie was the glue that held the Myers family together but at the young age of twelve, everything changed.
Kylie was diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer.
The prognosis wasn’t great but Kylie went ahead with a brutal treatment process. Through the treatment Kylie always found ways to be joyful. While going through radiation, Kylie kept asking her parents for one thing, a kitten. The Myers were hesitant because they already had four animals at home but said once Kylie was finished with radiation and back home, they’d talk about it.
On Kylie’s last day of treatment, she had a pain in her shoulder. After taking a scan, the cancer had spread. Doctors said Kylie wouldn’t make it.
Kylie, seeing her opportunity, asked her parents again for a baby kitten. Dad made a call, and within an hour a little baby kitten who needed to be fostered was at their door. They named the kitten Liza.
Kylie was growing weaker, and Liza NEVER left her side. When Kylie slept, Liza slept.
Liza was completely devoted to loving Kylie.
Kylie wanted her mom to look after Liza when she passed. Robin thought Liza’s rescuing was over, that Liza was there for Kylie but Liza was so much more.
When Kylie passed, Robin would cry and no matter where Liza was in the house, she’d find Robin and sit with her. Robin had never experienced a pet be so in-tune to what she needed.
Robin believes taking care of Liza means she’s still doing something for Kylie.
