While driving through Rochester, New York, Pavel Fesyuk pulled up behind a car stopped in the middle of the road. Standing behind the car was an old man, the car’s driver, bent over at the waist. Pavel realized the man was choking and rushed to his aid.
“I came out and asked him what was wrong and he said — ack — you know, he’s like you know, pat my back, so I started patting his back and he kind of was showing me how he wanted it down, and he’s demonstrating and I’m trying, but I was like, I’m just going to do the Heimlich,” Pavel told ABC News.
The entire incident was captured on Pavel’s dashcam. The Good Samaritan owes his extensive training in mixed martial arts to having the skills necessary to save the man’s life.
