Emmelina Austin and her family have a truly unforgettable experience at Boston’s Franklin Park Zoo.
The new parents had brought their one-moth-old, Canyon, to see the gorilla exhibit. There they met Kiki the gorilla who was also a new mom.
As Emmelina and Michael held up baby Canyon, Kiki scrambled over to the glass where she admired the infant with gentle admiration. After a few moments she gathered up her own seven-month-old baby, Pablo, and carried him over to the class.
The two families shared a moment of parental love with only a pane of glass separating them.
Although the two mothers couldn’t speak to each other, they shared a powerful bond. Emmelina felt like she could understand their bond and see how much Kiki cared for Pablo. The mothers sat together with their babies, watching them and sharing a mutual experience.
Even Pablo came up to the glass and touched noses with baby Canyon. The Austins had tears in their eyes, and the experience was so moving that Michael shared it on his YouTube channel.
