Jacob and Tashanna Armstrong suffered a parent’s worst nightmare when their son, McKade, died at birth.
The devastated couple pays as many visits to McKade’s burial in Oklahoma as they can. To deal with the grief, they began placing emotional trinkets at McKade’s tomb, such as colorful pinwheels and little toys, which they knew he would enjoy.
It wasn’t long before Jacob and Tashanna noticed McKade’s burial items were slowly disappearing. Someone was clearly coming by to take them off the baby’s cemetery and walk away with them.
“This pinwheel doesn’t mean a whole lot to the next person, but it does mean a lot to the person who placed it there,” Tashanna told Inside Edition.
Jacob discreetly installed a concealed camera in the bushes of the cemetery, only a few feet from his son’s grave, unable to watch the heartless robbery go unpunished. He was dead set on catching the vandal in the act, and it worked like a charm. All he had to do now was find the criminal and bring him to justice.
Jacob handed over the hidden camera footage to Deputy Chief James Logsdon, who was eager to crack the case. It was an especially poignant one for him because his sister died at infancy and is buried alongside McKade.
