We don’t know what this guitar is or what you’re supposed to call it but it has 18 strings and it sounds… well, it sounds remarkable. His version of “Sound of Silence” just might give you goosebumps.

Jamie Dupuis, the young man in the video, recorded his first album in 2011 and he won a Canadian Guitar Festival Competition. He is an Ontario native.

“Sound of Silence” in general is a great song that was written by Paul Simon and performed with Simon and Garfunkel. The origin of the song was never explicitly stated but people have speculated all sorts of things. We’d say, it’s more important what it means to YOU.

Update: We found out this is called a “harp guitar.”
