The pests come out when the weather gets warm and you might live in an area where flying insects are real problem, especially gnats and fruit flies. Here’s a quick way to make a trap that works better than anything you can buy at the store.
Sure, a fly-swatter works but this method is a lot easier on the wrist. No whacking required. Just make this do-it-yourself fly trap.
This method, no matter what the video says, is best suited for outdoors where you’re not going to be bothered by the smell because how does it work? You use trash. He specifically uses some chicken that is a bit past it’s expiration.
Cut a hole into the side of a milk jug, stuff it with some gross garbage like chicken parts, and screw the top on. The hole allows flies to come into the trap, but they have difficulty finding their own way out. He adds a bit of water to help attract the insects and it makes them drown eventually.
Of course you’re going to want to change out the traps as frequently as necessary. This is not a year-round solution. That’s for sure.
Hey, it’s kinda like fly paper, right?
