Have you seen any of your neighbors hanging chunks of soap around their garden? It turns out they’re not crazy!
Irish Spring Soap in particular is an incredible pest deterrent that works particularly well at keeping pesky deer and rabbits out of your garden. While the strong scent of this soap smells pleasant to us, most garden invading herbivores hate it.

If you’ve had your flower beds ruined by these furry invaders, try the Irish Soap trick. Simply chop up a bar of the green soap into large chunks and then hang them around your garden in either socks or stockings. One gardener slipped the soap into pieces of sock, tied the socks to wooden stakes, and then discretely hammered the stakes around the garden.

Farmers swear by this trick, would you try it?
