Two kayakers were going down Blackstone River in Massachusetts when they saw something alarming. They saw a potato sack floating down the river, but then their heart dropped when they heard it “whimper.”
The made their way to the bag and tore it open to find six newborn puppies that had been thrown away and discarded like they were nothing, but thankfully, these guys saved the beautiful dogs.
The police chief of the local community, Uxbridge, says, “It’s unconscionable, you can’t imagine what’s going through my head as a police officer for 29 years, someone would do that, someone would take six fairly newborn puppies and discard them in a body of water.”
The puppies were taken to a rescue facility that helped feed them with a mixture of dog formula and goat’s milk along with probiotics. The runt of the litter had to be placed on antibiotics.
After people heard the story of these little miracles, everybody is trying to adopt them. The police had to issue an extra update saying, “We are overwhelmed by the responses with regards to the puppies found yesterday. We have such a caring and great community and we appreciate everyone’s outpouring support and concern for the puppies… We would like to remind everyone to please consider the many many dogs looking for loving homes in the many area shelters here locally and beyond.”
