Before CGI took over, almost every single special effect was either crafted by hand or drawn directly onto a film strip.
Master mask maker Landon Meier has kept the tradition alive with his amazing (and sometimes disturbing) Hyperflesh masks.
Just imagine what Halloween would be like in one of these. When we were kids our masks were just cheap pieces of plastic with the eyes cut out!
In the video below Meier shows off one of his many creations that look so real they’re creepy.
Don’t worry! He doesn’t do or say anything rude, but he sure does look weird!
