Edi Okoro of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, was struggling to think of a fun, memorable way to pop the question to his girlfriend Cally. That’s because Edi, a self-described “spontaneous improviser,” struggles to make ahead preparations and keep them a secret.
As a result, Edi bought Cally’s engagement ring and carried it around with him at all times so that when the proper situation presented itself he would be ready to propose.
After a month, he still didn’t have a plan and the “right situation” hadn’t come. He was deep in thought with the ring in his hands when Cally entered the room and nearly caught him. It was the flash of inspiration he needed. Edi took a picture of himself with the ring in front of Cally, without her knowledge.
“This escalated quickly into trying to get as many photos of Cally with the ring without her knowing!” Edi wrote on Facebook. “The idea was to take as many photos, in more daring scenarios, until I found the perfect moment to propose, or until I got caught, at which point I would propose!”
Over the next several days, Edi captured several “engagement ring photobombs” as he imagined each possible way he might propose to Cally. When the moment finally came, he shared the full gallery of photos with her!
