Are you a plant lover? Do you want to learn how to clone your favorite plants easily? Well, we have great news for you!
You can grow an identical copy of your plant through cloning, and it’s much simpler than you think.
To get started, you only need a few materials, including a banana, perlite, zip tie, healthy parent plant, pruning shears or scissors, twigs, a large plastic cup, and moist soil.
Here are the simple steps to clone your plant:
- Select a healthy stem from your parent plant and make an incision in the middle using a sharp knife. Then, insert a perlite bead in the incision.
- Get a twig and use a zip tie to secure it about 3-4 inches below the incision.
- Split a banana lengthwise and wrap it around the stem and perlite.
- Secure the banana and twig to the stem with zip ties.
- Cover the banana with a plastic cup and secure the cup with zip ties.
- Fill the cup with moist soil.
- Use sticks to secure the clone and the parent plant.
- After 25 days, check the clone.
- Carefully remove all the zip ties and cut the base of the clone (below the cup) from the parent plant.
- Remove the plastic cup and soil until you see the roots. Cut the base and plant it in a pot.
