Heather and Mike Martin, a pair of prankster parents, are under fire after sharing a prank video that critics call insensitive, heartless, and cruel.
In the video, mom and dad trick their pre-teen son Cody. They cover his carpet with invisible ink and then yell at him for causing the spill. After screaming obsenities at their own child, the parents burst out laughing and tell him it was all a joke. At this point their humiliated son is weeping and speechless. Before he can recover they ask him to read an ad asking for viewers to subscribe to their YouTube channel DaddyOFive.
The video went viral and was immediately met with intense criticism. The couple attempted to restrict the video from being shared further and planned to “block all the haters.” We’ve included two videos below. The top video is the cruel prank. WARNING: This video contains foul language and distrubing content, viewer discretion is advised. The bottom video is the couple’s response to their critics.
“This guy is beyond delusional. It’s sickening to even think he’s a legal guardian to five children,” one viewer commented on Reddit. Another viewer went on Instagram to ask “Why is mentally torturing your kids till they cry funny to you?”
Instead of apologizing to their son the Martins defend their actions. They released a follow up video titles “blocking all the haters.”
