As parents we all learn not to put too much stock in material posessions, particularlu when they belong to our children. Whether it’s just plain old mud or an sudden spurt of creative indulgence with a magic marker, kids clothes tend to accumulate stains, smudges, and other unsightly blemishes. For that reason alone a thoughtful parent will buy their play clothes from the bargain bin, particularly if they’re on a budget.

28-year-old fashion designer Sarah Louise Bryan isn’t one of those parents. After picking up her 3-year-old daughter Isabella, Bryan was outraged to discover her toddler’s designer leather shoes had *gasp* marks on them.

The toddler’s shoes cost $400 and were made of Italian leather. Shockingly, Isabella and the other toddlers had little to no concept of money, let alone designer footwear. The irate mother sent an email to the other parents

So Isabella has just come home from her playdate with your child and I am disgusted to see her new Italian leather shoes are all scuffed and have a Sharpie mark on them.

Below is the bill for these replacing because they can not be fixed these are fine Italian leather! As a designer I do not want my child to look anything less than pristine.

Bill for a replacement pair of Italian fur booties £325 (US$400, AU$548) to be paid by 01/02/2017 before I take this higher. Thank you. Sarah.

Bryan has big plans for her daughter to be a child model, so she only dresses her in the finest designer wear. She frequently has clothing shipped from Spanish and Italian botiques to their home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England.

According to the Daily Mail, Bryan said,

‘Bella is just starting out in modelling and I make sure she is always dressed head to toe in designer gear.

‘I have a pair of black £700 Christian Louboutin shoes which I struggle to walk in, but I’m in to fashion and I want Bella to be in to fashion as well.

‘Bella is already so image conscious that she knows how to accessorize and is very color coordinated.

It’s fine for other parents to dress their kids in cheap Primark gear, but I think Bella to want to be more than that and I’m happy to spend money to make her look good and feel special.”

If you found Bryan’s snobbish comments a little cringeworthy, you’re not alone. After her story went viral, Bryan was subject to tremendous criticism by the global public. Facebook users called her a “pompous twitt” and referred to her email as “ridiculous.” Other’s said what most people were thinking, “Only an idiot would send their child to a play date in shoes that costs that much.”

Piers Morgan left Bryan in tears during an interview on Good Morning Britain after he called her request “preposterous.” See his interview with her in the video below. She complains that she has since become a victim of cyber bullying and has shut down public access to her Facebook and Instagram profiles.

This isn’t the first time Bryan’s outlandish behavior has caused a stir. In July of 2016 she made headlines for her designer dress made entirely from pubic hair.

She created this ridiculous outfit to “kick Lady Gaga off her throne,” referring to the meat dress worn by the pop star during the 2010 MTV video music awards. Bryan is currently working on a floor-length dress made of raw fish.
