After the Denver Broncos’ Brandon Marshall joined Colin Kaepernick’s anti-anthem protest and the entire Seattle Seahawks lineup threatened to follow suit, fans decided to start a protest of their own. Across the country, football fans everywhere took to social media encouraging an NFL blackout across the board until the league itself takes action against the protesting players. The twitter hashtag #BoycottNFL started on Thursday and skyrocketed to the top of the trending topics before the weekend even started.
