Locate and remove label from an unused medicine bottle. Clean out well. Fill bottle with the following essentials:

Matches. You’ll have a fire source to start a fire or candle.
Strike strip. Attach a strike strip with super glue to the inside of the bottle’s lid. Makes for a easy and convenient way to light a match.
Mini lighter. It can never hurt to have a back-up fire source.
A piece of candy. Sometimes your blood sugar can drop and one piece of candy can mean the difference between life and death. Or you might just need a pick-me-up and candy can bring hope.
Aluminum foil. It has so many different uses but an important one is signaling for help.
Safety pins. They can secure gauze, repair clothing or help make a sling.
Sanitizing wipes. If you’re ever injured, sanitizing a wound is very important.
Antibiotic ointment. You can take a straw and fill part of it with ointment and seal each end.
Bandages. Fabric bandages are flexible and will keep dirt out of wounds.
Combine and neatly organize the essentials above to fit into your medicine bottle.
If you still have extra room, think about adding a small pocket-knife, fishing hook, fishing line, anything that might help you in a survival situation. Keep this bottle handy, you’ll never know when you’ll need it!
