Patient vet gains injured bald eagle’s trust, helps her learn to fly again

Dr. Cliff Redford, aka Dr. Cliff Worldwide Vet, is an experienced veterinarian, animal rights advocate, and owner/operator of the Wellington Veterinary Hospital. His vet skills were put to the test when an injured bald eagle was brought to his clinic.

The bald eagle, whom they affectionately named “Wolf,” had suffered a broken wing after a pair of negligent hunters shot her. After examining the injury, Dr. Cliff knew that he was her only hope for a normal life.

Through a great deal of kindness and patience. Dr. Cliff slowly earned the majestic bird’s trust. After performing surgery on Wolf’s broken wing he regularly administered muscle and bone therapy to help recover faster. Dr. Cliff also created several “test flights” to ensure that Wolf would be able to fly without any problems once she was released.

It took several months, but the day finally came where Wolf was healthy enough to be set free. Dr. Cliff and his team took her to the Niagara River and released her back into the wild. It was an emotional moment for everyone involved, and Dr. Cliff was moved to tears as he watched Wolf soar into the sky.

Watch the video below and pay attention to the last look Wolf gives to Dr. Cliff and his team. There’s no question about it, animals understand when a person helps save their life.
