It all began one day during a field day celebration in Georgia when other students started coming up to Alex Boston and asking her what felt like unusual questions. Then they started accusing her of saying nasty things about them on social media. Alex ended the day in tears.
Some kids at her school made a fake Facebook page that claimed to be Alex, and they were using the account to message everybody and say awful things.
The parents contacted the school and two teenagers admitted to creating the page. However, the school said they couldn’t do anything because the bullying happened outside of school. The page stayed up a full year after the incident.
So the family decided to sue the teenagers’ parents. The lawsuit charges that the actions proved “intentional and malicious and were done for the purpose of causing the Plaintiff to suffer humiliation, mental anguish, and embarrassment.”
