It has been 20 years since the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, ended too soon in a tragic car accident. The “People’s Princess” was just 36-years-old. She would have just celebrated her 56th birthday if she was alive today.
This is a composite image of Diana showing what she would have looked like in her mid 50s. This image was created by the same system used to model images of missing persons years after their disappearance.
Earlier this year Diana’s two sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, announced a statue would be erected in their mother’s honor. In a press release from Kensington Palace the Duke and Prince said, “It has been twenty years since our mother’s death and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue. Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy.”

This morning The Duke and Prince William visited the makeshift memorial created for their mother outside the gates of Kensington Palace. They shared their gratitude with the countless people who had delivered messages and flowers in her memory.
