If you’re anything like me, you probably have a few glass bottles around the house. Instead of throwing them away, here are some great ideas for repurposing your bottles:
First, you’ll need to clean the bottle and remove any labeling. Fill your sink/bucket and glass bottle(s) with hot water. Then, add 1/2 cup of baking powder, 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and 2 cups of white vinegar. The water will become fizzy, and the labels should come right off!
Now the real fun begins. Below are some simple DIY craft ideas you can do at home.
The Perfect Centerpieces
Grab your glue gun and a clean glass bottle. Use the glue gun to add your desired word (i.e. love). Then paint the bottle and you’re done!
Sticking with the same idea, grab a bottle, tape and paint. Create the design you want using tape, then paint the bottle. Once the paint is dry, remove the tape. You now have beautiful centerpieces with minimal effort.
Bird Feeder
Tiki Torches
Grab a bottle, copper coupling, Tiki replacement wick, nylon thread seal tape and some citronella torch fuel.
Begin by wrapping the tape around the copper several times. Depending on the size of your bottle, you’ll need to wrap it about 15 times. Then, insert the wick into the copper coupling. Fill bottle with citronella and insert the wick. You’ll want to let the oil absorb into the wick before lighting.
Picture Frames
These look fantastic and will take you no time at all! Collect your favorite photos and something fun to create your base (seashells, sand, Epsom salt, marbles, rocks, etc.). Add your base (you don’t have to have one, but it creates room for a more personal touch), then roll your photo and put it in the bottle. Add any decorations you want, and you’re done!
