Sir Rod Stewart, iconic singer and songwriter, made headlines after he gave something back to the town of Harlow in Essex, England.
It all began when a video on Instagram showed the legendary musician wearing a hi-visibility vest and wielding a shovel to fill in potholes on a rural road near his home.
For years the road has fallen into a state of disrepair, damaging cars and even an ambulance unfortunate enough to drive over one of the many potholes.
After the city council failed to repair the road in a timely manner, Sir Rod decided to take matters into his own hands and fix the potholes himself. The Essex County Council wasn’t pleased that a citizen took matters into their own hands and insisted that repairs should be done by professionals. However, they also acknowledged that the repairs were not being done.
