Matthew Boling, a High School Senior from Houston’s Strake Jesuit, just ran the 100m dash in 9.98 (+4.2) during the UIL Region 3-6A track meet in Webster, Texas.
This Jesuit College Prep record-breaking dash was just 0.4 seconds behind Usani Bolt, the Jamaican Olympian Gold Medalist who currently holds the world record in the 100m dash.
Boling lives up to his nickname, “White Lightning,” after setting the fastest 100m dash in high school history.

“I would love to be able to claim that it’s genetic – but he just has a work ethic that I’ve never seen from anybody,” said his father, Mark Boling, in an interview with CBS.
Boling will be running for the University of Georgia this fall, but the 18-year-old athlete says he’s got his sights set on the Olympics.
We have no doubt Boling will achieve his dreams.
