Some older buildings are hard to make handicap accessible because of their old-world architecture. They can make it difficult for people bound to a wheelchair to get in and out of the building. But it doesn’t have to be this way!
This genius solution was created to try and fix this problem. Instead of a ramp being built, the stairs collapse into themselves and reveal a safe platform which can be used in the same way you might use an elevator.
They preserve the original architectural facade while providing a modern day convenience for the 15% of society that has trouble with steps.
