Just a few seconds into his Britain’s Got Talent audition, little Shaheen Jafargholi was asked to stop singing by none other than Simon Cowell.
“You got this really wrong,” Simon told him. “What do you sing apart from that?” The shy 12-year-old was more than a little flustered and his mother was utterly mortified. Who can blame them?
It turns out that Simon’s motivation was more kind-hearted that it seemed. Simon already knew the song wasn’t right for the audition and wanted to give the young boy a proper shot at his audition.
After taking a moment to compose himself, little Shaheen tried again with “Who’s Loving You” by the Jackson 5. While the new song was more than challenging, the slow soulful ballad was just right for the boy’s voice.
“This is how one song can change your life,” Simon said.
