Snake tries to eat a porcupine but porcupine gets the last laugh

Talk about biting off more than you can chew! A boa constrictor in Brazil made the mistake of trying to eat a porcupine and suffered immediate regret.

A boa constrictor wraps its body around its prey and squeezes until the potential meal dies. It’s an incredibly effective predator, but this snake managed to pick the one animal most suited to defeat a “squeeze attack.”

Porcupines are mammals with an incredible defense system, a coat of sharp quills. Contrary to popular belief, porcupines are unable to project their quills at a target. Made of thick keratin (the same material our hair is made of), porcupine quills are released on contact and can regrow just like our hair.

If you’re a fan of large rodents, you’re in luck! It looks like the porcupine responsible of this video escaped safe and sound.

For those Ophidiophiles out there, this is going to be a pretty sad video. This snake made a poor lunch decision and suffered the consequences.
