According to research conducted by the University of Oxford and Imperial College London, one in five people carry the APoE4 gene which doubles their risk of developoing Alzheimer’s disease. That’s more than 67 million people in the United States and United Kingdom alone.
Sticky amyloid plaques build up on nerve cells inside the brain, which eventually leads to Alzheimer’s disease. Fortunately you can help fight that build up and keep your mind sharp by playing a few brain games every day.
Try to solve the puzzle below. At first glance it’s obvious that these aren’t your normal math equations.
Can you find the pattern in less than 10 seconds? Only 1 in 100 people can!
Still stumped? Scroll down for the solution!
The trick to this pattern is seeing that the plus sign doesn’t really matter at all. Look at the two numbers on the left and try to find some relationship to the string of numbers on the right.
The numbers on the right are actually three separate values all strung together. The first value is the product of multiplication, the second is addition, and the last is subtraction.
Let’s try the first line,
- 8 x 2 = 16
- 8 + 2 = 10
- 8 – 2 = 6
When you string all three answers together you’ll get 16,10,6 or 16106. See the pattern!
