You might take it for granted that you can open your eyes each morning and see the world around you, but some people have a different path they have to take. This man, Gene Purdie, has a much more different life.
Purdie suffers from “Stargardt’s Disease” and it makes him legally blind. Essentially, he can only see the outlines of things right in front of him. He’s never seen his parents, his wife, or his new son’s cute face. He’s lived his life in shadows.
He went on the Rachael Ray show and was offered a new bit of science. They gave him these special experimental glasses which allow him to see the world. Finally.
