A 15-year-old high school student has raised the bar when it comes to woodshop class projects.
Instead of building a simple ashtray or birdhouse, this amateur carpenter set his sights a bit higher and chose to build a coffee table with a little secret.
He shared the following images on imgur under the username Baumstaller.
The project begins with a simple wooden frame secured by pockets screws.
After applying a stain, the table already looks quite professional, but he’s not finished yet.
The inventive young craftsman installed some wiring between the inner and outer frames.
After that he glues a string of LED lights around the edge of the inner frame and placed a mirror on the bottom level.
The table is all finished with the addition of a two-way mirror on top.
With the flip of a switch the infinity table comes to life.
It can even change colors!
Anything placed on top of the table helps amplify the infinity effect.
Unsurprisingly, the student won his school’s grand prize for this incredible project.
