Toddler found safely floating in air pocket under flipped boat hours after crash

Authorities found a 23-month-old girl safely floating in an air pocket beneath a flipped boat after she and her family crashed on the Indian River in Florida. The scared little girl was lost in the water for more than an hour after the crash.

Dorothy Dixon, a civilian and fellow boater, assisted four police officers in the search. Cocoa police officers Matt Rush and Corporal Alan Worthy finally found the scared little girl who was kept afloat by her life jacket. The parents were overwhelmed with emotion after finding their daughter safe and sound. The entire family was taken to the local hospital where everyone involved was found to be in good condition.
