Brian Kolfage, a triple amputee veteran, had the idea to crowdsource wall funding after it became apparent that Mexico would not pay for the wall as President Trump had hoped.
“Like a majority of those American citizens who voted to elect President Donald J Trump, we voted for him to Make America Great Again,” Kolfage wrote on the GoFundMe page. “President Trump’s main campaign promise was to BUILD THE WALL. And as he’s followed through on just about every promise so far, this wall project needs to be completed still.”
Kolfage hopes each of the 63 million Americans who voted for Trump will contribute $80 to raise the $5 billion. Currently more than $6 million of the $1 billion GoFundMe goalhas been raised.
