TSA auctioning off confiscated knives, jewelry, and watches by the pound

Folding knives and multi-tools are commonly carried in the pockets and purses, but what happens when you forget what you’re carrying? If you’re passing through a TSA checkpoint you’ll lose that trusty blade.

The TSA collects thousands of knives, tools, lighters, and more every single day and then puts them up for auction at GovDeals, a liquidity services marketplace.

Right now, the TSA has so many knives that they’re auctioning them off by the pound</strong>. The current bid on 20 lbs of assorted Victorinox Swiss Army knives as a current high bid of $500. The average Swiss army knife costs between $20 and $40, so 20 lbs of knives for $500 is quite a steal.

Any one of these pieces of jewelry could have sold for around $20, but you can pay the same price and get everything pictured above sent to your door!

Like multi-tools? Who doesn’t?! The current bid for 20 of these bad boys is still under $140.

The little known auction site features a variety of items including power tools, keyboards, TVs, full size dryers and more.
