Two women wrote obituaries for the same man that both ran on the same day in the same newspaper “Press of Atlantic City” in New Jersey this past Friday. One obituary described the author as his “loving wife,” while the other one written by his mistress described herself as “longtime girlfriend.”
Leroy Black died at the age of 55 from cancer. Bearetta Harrison Black, the man’s wife, wrote the first obituary which appeared just above the other. The second was written by Princess Hall, his girlfriend.
According to Greenridge Funeral Home, where the funeral was held, the two obituaries were placed in the local paper because “the wife wanted it one way and the girlfriend wanted it another way.” They went on to say that friends and family actually expected this to be the case.
It seems out of the ordinary to some, but the funeral home stated that the mourners expected to see an obituary from each woman similar to how it appeared.
