The image of a phallic-shaped sky drawing went viral earlier this week with many viewers assuming it was nothing more than a vulgar product of Photoshop. It turns out the image is 100% authentic and the United States Navy has issued a public apology on behalf of the pilot based out of the naval air station at Whidbey Island.
“The Navy holds its aircrew to the highest standards and we find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value and we are holding the crew accountable,” the navy said in a statement released late on Thursday to local CBS affiliate KREM 2 News.

Multiple residents from Okanogan, Washington took photographs of the crudely drawn giant penis in the sky. Many reported the offensive drawing to police.
According to KREM 2, the Federal Aviation Administrations said they are unable to do anything if the act doesn’t pose a safety risk. A spokesperson said the FAA is unable to “police morality.”
