Ty Thompson, 20, and his friend Koltan Transue, 19, were minding their own business when they saw a woman drive her car over a curb and crash into some bushes as she was trying to leave a convenience store. Then they noticed a beer in her hand and a baby in the front seat.
They decided to block the car. Thompson said, “I seen the lady had a beer in her hand. I wasn’t going to let her drive off with a kid in the car.”
Transue called the police while Thompson managed to get the keys out of the ignition and the baby out of the vehicle. “Me and Ty took turns holding the baby and just keeping her warm and trying to comfort her,” said Transue.
Police arrived and arrested the woman for Driving Under the Influence as well as Reckless Endangerment.
Thompson said later, “I feel like we did a big thing. I feel like we saved some lives.”
