Dash cams are a great way to end the classic “he said, she said” argument that comes after an accident.
Usually an accident video clears everything up, but sometimes even the best footage makes viewers play the blame game.
In the video below, a little blue hatchback gets trapped beneath a box truck as both cars try to make a left turn.
The startling thing about this footage isn’t the accident itself, but the argument between viewers in the comment section.
No one can seem to agree who is at fault!
YouTuber 1london Witness writes, “I wouldn’t have done that myself but Imagine if it was a cyclist that came up on the inside like that? The lorry drove into a stationary vehicle because he only looked to his right and not both ways. The blue car was ahead of the lorry before the collision happened so the lorry driver was at fault through lack of effective observation, any experienced driver of a large vehicle would anticipate something would likely go into a gap on the left/near side and be prepared for it. Corrective observational training needed for this lorry driver.”
BlitzBro Razgriz thinks “Blue car Drivers fault. Lorries have a very limited view, and a small blue car can easily sit under the dashboard of a lorry, the driver probably couldn’t see him if he wanted to. He undertook, and jeopardised both of them. Most definitely the blue cars fault…”
While Maria Clara thinks the answer is a lot simpler saying “It is super easy to know who is at fault, is the only answer to this question: does this road have 2 marked tracks for vehicles? , if the answer is yes; The culprit is the truck, if the answer is no, the small vehicle is responsible.”
