Sometimes you just need to take a break...

98-year-old moves in to help take care of her 80-year-old son

Ada Keating was just 18-years-old when she had her son Tom and the pair have been inseparable ever since. They’ve captured hearts around the globe after news broke that 98-year-old Ada was moving into a senior’s home to help care for 80-year-old Tom.

Most couples in nursing homes are either siblings or married, and rarely ever parent and child.

Despite their age, Ada and Tom’s habits have remained consistent over the years. “I say goodnight to Tom in his room every night and I’ll go and say good morning to him.” Ada shared with the Liverpool Echo, “I’ll tell him I’m coming down for breakfast.”

“When I go out to the hairdressers he’ll look for me to see when I’m coming back,” Ada said. She also mentioned that Tom always greets her with a big hug when she returns home.

Ada and Tom were also regularly visited by their family, including Ada’s granddaughter Debi. Ada and her husband Harry had four children including Tom and three daughters, one of whom sadly passed away at the age of 13.
